Challenge
Outdated AV Infrastructure and Limited Visibility Across Operations
Capitol City Produce needed a more reliable way to manage video and communication across its facility. Their existing video matrix system was outdated, difficult to maintain, and no longer supported by the manufacturer. As the system began to fail, it created an increasing risk for downtime and limited their ability to scale.
As operations expanded, it became more difficult to ensure that critical information was visible across both office and warehouse environments. This visibility challenge was particularly evident on the production floor, where employees rely on real-time performance data to track their output.
Production screens display how many boxes each employee moves throughout the day, which directly impacts their pay. Without consistent and reliable visibility into this data, employees lose an important source of motivation, and leadership loses a key operational tool. These issues highlighted the need for a comprehensive solution.
Solution
To address these challenges, Link Integration designed and implemented a Crestron Video over IP matrix that centralized all video distribution across the campus. This system allows Capital Area Produce to route any video source to any display throughout the facility, enabling greater control and efficiency.
The solution included:
- Integration of multiple video inputs, including PCs, cable channels, and media players
- Distribution of content to TVs across both office and warehouse environments
- A custom-built touchscreen GUI that allows users to easily control displays, power devices on and off, and switch sources
- Conference room upgrades with Google Meet integration, ceiling speakers, and streamlined controls
- Deployment of production screens across the warehouse to display real-time performance data
The system is scalable, reliable, and easy for employees to use, with no technical friction.
