Posted by Brad Rojas on Jan 29, 2018 10:45:42 AM

Today more things are connected to a network than ever before.  Sure this is how things have been done for years when it came to computers and printers; but now everything from your thermostat to your refrigerator can be connected.  The same is true for AV devices, platforms, and applications.  So what does your organization need to understand about this advanced connected state of AV that puts many of the devices you already use on your network?

Boardroom Automation in Baton Rouge: QSC Integrated Systems

Posted by Brad Rojas on Feb 1, 2017 9:32:00 AM

Not long ago when you would pack for a trip you would need to bring along a variety of different devices, each with a different function.  This also meant you would need to pack a number of different chargers, batteries, cables, and other accessories that would quickly monopolize the space in your luggage.  Today however, what once required a suitcase now fits in your pocket, or at the very least a backpack.  Phones, tablets and laptops have replaced the Walkman, portable DVD player, books, magazines and any other gadget you would use to pass the time while traveling.  No more wrestling with random elements that don’t work together and honestly become cumbersome while offering little reward.  Boardroom automation technology has followed a similar pattern.

Rethink Technology: Improving Baton Rouge Business Integration

Posted by Brad Rojas on Dec 1, 2016 8:50:00 AM

Goalposts used to be in the front of the end zone.  The front.  On the goal line.  From 1933 to 1974 this is the way football was played, as an obstacle course.  Then they rethought it.  Players stopped running into the goal posts, scoring increased, and the game became the most popular sport in the country.  However, not everyone takes the opportunity to “rethink”.  Do you remember going to Blockbuster Video to pick up the latest movie?  Chances are that you do.  Did you know that Blockbuster was given an opportunity to buy NetFlix in 2000?  They were, for $50 million.  However, as history has shown, they passed on the deal.  They thought that their model: the brick and mortar, please be kind, rewind, and late fee charging model would always work.  They didn’t “rethink”.  Today NetFlix is a $32.9 billion company, and Blockbuster went out of business in 2013.

Posted by Brad Rojas on Jul 26, 2016 10:10:34 AM

In business, medicine, sports, and life in general, there really isn’t a “one-step and done” solution for anything.  Imagine a surgeon that can make the perfect incision to begin a procedure, but then has no idea what to do once he’s inside.  Or, a quarterback that knows every play in the playbook, but once the ball is snapped wouldn’t be able to throw a tennis ball through a hula hoop.  The results in either of these scenarios would be disastrous.  The same concept is true when it comes to your business’ IT department and your A/V integration

Changing Spaces: The Rise of the Virtual Workspace in Baton Rouge

Posted by Brad Rojas on Apr 25, 2016 5:17:59 PM

The days of gathering around a conference table or meeting space with all of your employees, or even just team members working on a specific project, are quickly disappearing.  The reasons for this can vary from market conditions to employee preference to cost control and more, but the fact is that a distributed workforce, remote employees and virtual offices are here to stay.  A study by Fortune showed a 26% increase for open remote job postings in 2014.  And Forrester forecasts that by the end of 2016 the telecommuting population will reach 63 million, or 43% of the United States workforce.

Baton Rouge Commercial Audio/Visual: Home Theater vs. Business Integration

Posted by Brad Rojas on Apr 18, 2016 7:41:49 PM

Nemo was lost, then found. Kevin Costner built it, and they came. When it comes to home theaters and entertainment, you’d be hard pressed to find a better alternative than these classics. However, these movies can also tell you a lot about what may happen if you entrust your corporate boardroom to residential professionals. Just like Nemo, your connections may get lost, and unfortunately, not found. And just like Ray Kensella’s corn field in Iowa, you can build it, and clients may come, but will they come back? The truth is, an integrated conference room that offers state-of-the-art communication and presentation technology is not the same thing as a home theater, and it shouldn’t be designed or treated as such.
